Legia Warszawa is saying goodbye to Inaki Astiz, who is ending his stint at the Warsaw club. The Spanish coach and former Legia defender is joining AEK Larnaka, the Cypriot vice-champion, as an assistant. Astiz spent 13 seasons at Legia as a player, with a brief interruption to play for APOEL Nicosia. After retiring from football, he became a member of Legia's coaching staff. He worked as an assistant to Marek Gołębiewski, Aleksandar Vuković, Kosta Runjaic, Goncalo Feio, and Edward Iordanescu. In the fall, he temporarily took over the Warsaw team and led Legia in 10 matches until the end of the round. At his new club, Astiz will be working with Mauro Camoranesi, a former Juventus player and Italian national team representative. Camoranesi has previously managed clubs like NK Maribor, Floriana FC, and Anorthosis Famagusta. Inaki Astiz is 42 years old and got to know Cyprus during his time playing for APOEL Nicosia. Now he's returning to the island as an assistant at AEK Larnaka. Legia Warszawa is looking for a new assistant to complete its coaching staff. Inaki Astiz was an important member of the team, and his departure may have an impact on Legia's performance in the upcoming season.
